Life is hard.
And sometimes we make life harder by trying to make it easier.
We have 24/7 access to “easy” things like ordering food delivery, online shopping, scrolling through social media, pouring a glass of wine, watching a number of different streaming services, and so on.
But have you noticed how over-consuming those things leads to feeling worse, not better?
At our core, I believe we are wired for hard work. Our nervous system naturally relaxes after giving something our best effort. We feel complete and content when we are all-in on the life we are wanting to create.
Chronically reaching for the easy path leaves us feeling anxious and restless. Our true self knows when we are finding little ways to cheat or cut corners throughout the day – which further drives our desire to keep reaching for those instant self-soothing options that are at our fingertips.
This is a brutal cycle to be in.
If you can relate, ask yourself if there is one area in your life that would benefit from a little more grit and a little less ease.
💫 How might you feel at the end of the day, knowing you did the things you said you were going to do, without putting things off until later?
💫 What would happen to your energy level if you worked on a project/task through to completion, even though you wanted to give up?
I’d love to help you learn how to manage these impulses, so that you can finish your days feeling accomplished and ready for more.
