Almost anytime I took action towards a goal, I was flooded with fear and doubt.
I routinely pursued several goals at the same time, but rarely let myself fully pursue any one thing. It was my version of hedging my bets.
This “halfway in” strategy has been one of the biggest obstacles that has gotten in the way of my dreams.
I kept taking small actions because I craved a change deep in my bones. But I had no idea how to deal with the fear and doubt that came up often so I let those thoughts talk me out of going all-in.
I was spinning my wheels. The harder I tried, the further I seemed to get from my dreams.
I began studying the neuroscience of transformation, which felt like the missing piece to the spiritual training I had been doing.
Here’s what I learned:
💡There’s a part of our brain designed to keep us safe 24/7
💡 It gets activated anytime we try something new
💡 We can learn to work with this system so we aren’t paralyzed by fear and doubt when we try something new
The work isn’t easy. There’s a whole lot of discomfort when we move past our primal brain thinking.
But that’s where the payoff is too.
And this is why I love supporting people who have big goals and dreams for their lives. I get to be their guide on the part of the path where they learn who they are and what is possible for themselves when they learn to intentionally meet their limits and skillfully push through.
What are you ready to transform this year? I’m all in on helping you reach your goals. Book a call with me to get the conversation started.
